Used as a natural colorant.  When soaked in fats, oils,
alcohol, etc. it yields a beautiful red or crimson color.
Used as a coloring for wines, inks, hair oils and
other cosmetics. 

Recommended usage is (1) tsp per (8) ounces of oil and let macerate overnight.
